Television vs youtube

I was a lousy browser and a big fan of television. People who know me know how much i stick to the idiot box as it was called sometime back ( i wonder why) ... anyways since I'm out of job now and have to concentrate on more productive things, I took a decision not to watch TV for an indefinite amount of time. Mind you! I stick to my word ... hmm... so I have not been watching any for a long time and have started spending more time in front of the computer. This has triggered another addiction in me that is the internet and Youtube :( ... I now aimlessly search for some totally useless shows and videos on this upgraded idiot box ( lap top) all day long ... this is totally worthless and even more distracting. All along I pitied ppl who sat with the laptop and browsed endlessly. Now I have become one of them !! I should stop this and get back to my TV watching. At least I wont browse and watch all the related videos of the shows.

Apart from this my life is going great! jobless but not aimless. The new twist is that I have decided to ditch env engg (After an extensive series of job search and disappointments) and move into statistics (SAS) . So far I like it... but I have not marketed my resume. I have heard some good things about this field and I like numbers too. So pray for me and wish me good luck.Hope things go great with me in my totally new life in all aspects.

Muh Lyfe ....

OK now that I have disappeared for quite some time.. I have realized some people do miss me sometimes. My life which was a painting exhibition( not really that classy) which had frozen frames here and there or say a photo album to be a lil humble (which I am ) is starting to become a motion picture (lol) with things starting to move a bit too fast for me to catch up :D. I am going to blog everyday from now. I want to look back to these days and this blog will be the perfect canvas. (I am using stupid words today !)

How I met a guy : Yeah I met a guy the regular arranged marriage arena.. proposed by parents and blah blah . huh.. as one of the very good indian girls, I could not cross the invisible fence our parents chalk out for us lol... and also being too much in love with myself till date, I did not find any guy in 20+ years!! anyways so long story short I did finally said yes to the guy ! few days back, and since then he is scratching his head over why I said yes ! and for all the non believers.. I thus prove that me also likes guys..! just one guy... my story here is not the rather typical one you get .. its lil different and unusual! which I will write about later .. lol he is the chosen one now so you cant do anything about it !!.. and ppl please don't sympathize with him for putting up with me. More details to follow :D

I lost my job: This is the second chapter, I lost my job and thought of doing usual the tricks to stay in the country ... but figured out its not really worth it ! so I decided to go back to India and spend some time with my parents and the hyd malls ! which I had not done for 5 years now... I am quite excited about that part... though I had initially thought it is damn easy to find a job here which I realized is not true in this economy... I will come back after getting married and hunt and haunt this country one more time ha ha ha ! I am sure I will have a great holiday in India with perfect timing of dussera and diwali omg omg ... how awesome!

So the summary is... I should so busy with packing and taking care of a zillion things here and there, instead I am trying to do anything and everything to avoid starting to do what has to be done... I am busy with nothing totally freaking out every other day .. and now as time is getting scarce.. I am getting scared...

First Long weekend of 2009

I cant wait for it ... I don't have anything exciting planned yet ! but I have a weird feeling that this weekend is going to be awesome... I have no idea :) I'll let u know if my sixth sense made any sense lol ... maybe just because its a long weekend after a long time ( cool kada) I'm excited. thinking about the options, I can either go for a long drive or I can go smwhere close by and chill out! depends on the company and mood of the ppl. I hate to make plans...

hmmm.... Anyways whts up with everyone ? other than being cramped up with work and all... My job is kind of limping... no new projects down the line.. so office mei fultu marketing and business development is going on :) so kind of working in the background with my manager... and also looking out if thr is smthing else I could be doing ...!! I'm chill maring here in DC with summer.. I hate the weather transitions... I get a sic feeling whnever it gets hot to cold and vice versa... feel like eeeeeeeeeeeeee . I truly hope it does not go over 80 deg ( :( I know it will be 100 soon) but wish karne mei kya jata hai .... chal tc byeeeeeeeee

Help me choose !!

Pretty much tired of work today !! actually bored :( .. I dont have any work to do here now so my manager has asked me to do some market research and chk will all the nearby county websites, for projects and opportunities in the near future we can bid on .. lol I'm sure nobody understood this... hmm anyways its a tp work but very important for us now as we are not doing that great at this office with billable work ! whatever happens I will not lose my job ( touch wood!) so I'm more relaxed now. And for the rest of the week both my manager and the director are not going to be out of the office so ekdum chill ... I have a meeting in sometime to decide on how I'm going to kill time rest of this week. !! Some days I just hate this job.
BTW I got my car from the body shop today . Some freak had hit it in the parking lot and did not leave a note so I had to get it fixed. The insurance company said $200 bokka :( but surprsigly they did not take any money from me when I went to pick it up today ... hope I dont get any bill in the mail .It got some new parts from Honda! t so abhi full chamak raha hai. I want to have it for myself and give akka's car to lakshmi.

I need to send a good cell phone to India for my dad... and for the better part of today I have been looking for good ones online .... I like my cell phone though (BTW I have blk berry Perl) but I'm liking Nokia N85 its lil $$ but the reviews are really good! and its looks sweet :D ... I am not to tech savvy so I might have missed some points ... suggestions and comments are welcome :)

Why is Mrinali busy ?

This weekend was quite hectic... drove like 500 miles and around 5 states :D... The drive started pretty bad with the awful peak time traffic of 495.... It took me 5 hours to reach Delaware ! crazy !!
Anyways... my sister and Sai came to philly! so I had to drive over and meet her. It was Sai's uncle's 60th b'day party .. which reminds me that next month is my dad's 60th B'day !! cool kada ... I will so much miss being with my family ... well I can plan a surprise visit to home!! donno.. ok now coming back to the party, It was quite cool.. it was in some vineyard.. coz they are like ABCD's ... most of them, so they had an Americanised 60th B'day ! no shastipurthi !! khaneka aur peneka.. bas mast jene ka ... food and booze dominates their celebrations mostly. I ate some good desi food and some Italian (yummy) food ... played some cricket !!
Sai's uncle is pretty successful and intelligent !! he is also very funny and entertaining... unlike the regular 60 year old's I get to meet sometimes .. who always crib how wonderful it is back in India some 40 years back ..and how much they hate being here... uncle is pretty chilled out, and maybe having a family and a successful career makes a difference hmm .. donno... well I don't have anything against the senior citizens ( oops) or say the wiser citizens but most of them try not to enjoy their life as much and always live in a nostalgic past.
As usual it was nice meeting my sister and Sai... ( I said this now! donno wht it means) my sister has yet not become that auntyish as I had expected...lol... we always spend like 1 day with her and that too among so many guests !! I guess it will be a nice idea to go on a vacation with them and chill out for a while... current economy mei koi vacation he nehe le raha hai :D
Since I was so close to Jersey!, I decided to meet one of my friends and then and later my favorite cousin over there ... I had also planned to visit bridgewater temple ( my fav temple in USA) but It was too late by the time I bid adios to my cousin and I had a 4 hour drive back to home... reached home at around midnight ! tired and tired and tired
so things I did not do were
Visiting Bridgewater temple and also I did not go to Devon.. :(

Where is the spring ??

This was the question everyone was asking over the weekend.. as for me I had enuf complaints about this issue but I was soooo happy to be out thr in tht hot sun... like a awara... :D The best part of this weekend was that I had some visitors .. ( just lakshmi , deepthi and sushmita) we went to great falls, ate out, had ice cream, went to a movie, played Wii, made some stupid jokes, cooked food, I guess thats it !
Hold on... I recently discovered last week ... that I have a relative living close to my place.. who is my dad's sister's son's wife's dad's sister ... yeah very close relative... :D !! I had been to Pittsburg temple with deepthi and by chance I ran into this lady who is also a great kuchipudu dancer... he he ... we buddied up too quick because we have the same name ... no no no I am not named after her ! I dont even know who I am named after... hmm I should look into this matter... anyways.. she was sweet to invite me over to her dance school to check out the dance and join in the class. ( Hold all your comments here .. ahem) I sucessfully had my first Kuchipudi class... lol... And I discovered tht I am not bad in dancing ... I am terrible !! phir bhi hum class join karenge... kyuki ( I have no idea kyu) I will pour a bucket of cold water on the sleeping dancer within me.. like a shock treatment !!

So now that I am blogging from work place ... which indicates that I am totally useless for this company... wish they dont realize this anytime sooner :D

So much for the SPRING !!

I Loved Spring so much.. For all the wonderful things it brings with it !
After the awful winter... the fresh flowers, leaves, super sales in the malls.. lol .. hmm this spring was something I was looking forward to ! I moved in winter to Virginia.. and Spring is really beautiful here. Surprisingly I am getting allergies when ever I go out :( !! But the weather is awesome and I am falling in love with this place.. its truly beautiful. There is so much to do and I am still discovering great places to visit and hang out.
My work is going on fine.. not driving to baltiomore so often now which is good for anyone I can relate to ;) ... and I am tying not to work too much so that my boss does not get too impressed ! ... serioulsy working in a non IT feild is so much fun!
My trip to Canada to visit my siter was good fun.. I never knew they spoke French in canada !! hmm very amusing... and I did drive back !! 8 hrs my longest drive so far !
